Chloe is a Porch-Potato!

Just checkin in with y’all. Hey, I don’t talk like that and anyhow I moved to Seattle, not down South! Still, this hanging out on the porch gives me a lazy summertime kinda feeling and I am liking it!

Everyone asks my mom “how are the cats adjusting to the new place?” Why don’t they just ask me for crying out loud! I would tell them we like it very much! We have 2 sets of stairs and one that leads to a fully carpeted attic that is like kitty paradise! Also I’m finally allowed outside and I have cool bushes to hide in and some good trees to climb. Bullwinkle and Al just lazing around but whats new! We can’t complain at all.

Mom is very happy that there seem to not be any homeless cats around here. People actually take care of there pets as they should! Still, hopefully I’ll meet some new friends. I am, after all, VERY friendly!

The Post office gets on board!

cat stamps.jpg

Look at how awesome these stamps are! I’m using them for all my letters…well, I’m still working on learning how to write but my mom’s friend Miriam bought these for her as a gift and we think they are the best. You get super cool stamps, get to be buds with Ellen and donate money to critters!

People care about kitties all over the world!

This is Mieze. She lives in the french part of Switzerland. Her name means “cat” is German. Mieze lives in the field by Marc’s mother Marianne’s cozy house but as Mieze’s luck would have it, Marianne has become quite fond of this cute critter and has slowly but surely lured her inside and out of the cold Swiss winter.

Mieze seems to not be a youngster and has some eye issues including maybe loosing sight so it is especially great that the very warm and wonderful Marianne is taking care of her! Marianne’s house is always filled with classical music and art and nibbles of yummy tuna. I picture them sitting there, Marianne playing Mozart on the piano, a light snowfall outside and Mieze dozing happily by the fireplace – bliss!

We are very happy to hear stories from all over the world of humans taking care of us! Maybe Mieze and I will become penpals. Of course that would mean I would have to learn how to write….oh well, I think I’ll go back to playing in my garden! Au revoir Mieze!

I like long walks on the beach, fine dining and gardening!

Well, I like watching mom garden! And I like lounging in the garden – there is this one particular rock I just love to canoodle with! I rub and roll and stretch and purr – gardening is so much fun!

Mom says gardening is theraputic and I highly agree (as long as my rock is there!)
Here I am canoodling away and shirking my “gardening responsibilities” whatever the heck they may be!
P.S. Bullwinkle, I’m pretty sure you’re not really “fertilizing” the flowers….

Happy Monday! A little Kitty humor!

This made me purr!

We like this!

I enjoy seeing my fellow felines in unusual positions but hope they never catch me in any of these ridiculous predicaments!

As long as the directions are not from Ikea!!!!!

Now that looks Cozy, something like a fur avalanche!!! I wanna dive in!

I’ll take mine with Extra Cheese!

Martha Stewart says Cats are a Good Thing (duh!)

Monday January 11th Martha Stewart devoted an entire show to CATS!!!
Check out this video on her website to see what happened!

We are so happy that Martha is loves kitties! She has tons of information on her website on how to take care of us, what to feed us, groom us and even what we like to play with!
Martha reaches out to zillions of people so we think that is ALL GOOD!!!

It’s no surprise that Martha has five Himalayan cats — four boys and one girl (brothers Vivaldi and Verdi, Bartok, Mozart, and Elektra). BTW, there are no cats that look like these stuck up puff balls in my hood!!!

Martha she says they love toys, snacks, catnip-filled objects, interesting perches, and cat beds, preferably ones located in pools of warm sunlight or very near sources of heat. What the hell is an interesting perch? I call that a TREE!!!!!

I’m pretty sure my dishes are from the 99Cent store. I need to be upgraded toute suite!

My mom of course LOVED the part with Vogue’s Creative Director Grace Coddington who is a major cat lover. Mom’s buddy Elizabeth gave her this pretty cool book called The Catwalk Cats that is by Grace and her partner fancy hair dresser Didier Malige. Even I think it’s pretty cool. Maybe Mom can read me a bedtime story from this book, not that I need it to fall asleep………….

While Visions of Sugarplums danced thru his head?

Make that visions of TUNA for this feline St. Nick!

That’s Frankie as our snoozing Santa and only his mom Lisa can tell us if he’s been naughty or nice!!!

Happy Holidays from all the kitties at Chez Weldon: Alessandro, Chloe, Bullwinkle, Quasimodo, Hurly Burly and the rest of the gang! And loving memory to Giovanni and Parker, we are thinking of you!!!!

Once again, we are full of surprises!

People think they know what we are doing during the day and to that I say “ha”!!!!

The Ventura County Star published this article which will give you a penny for your thoughts as to what your little darlings are doing during the day!

What do cats do home alone? Cat cams have answers
By SUE MANNING

Thursday, December 3, 2009

LOS ANGELES — LOS ANGELES (AP) – What do cats do when their owners are away? There was one way to find out – “cat cams.”

Fifty house cats were given collar cameras that took a photo every 15 minutes. The results put a digital dent in some human theories about catnapping.

Based on the photos, about 22 percent of the cats’ time was spent looking out of windows, 12 percent was used to interact with other family pets and 8 percent was spent climbing on chairs or kitty condos. Just 6 percent of their hours were spent sleeping.

“What surprised me was how active the cats were. I believed my three cats were sleeping during the day,” said Jill Villarreal, an animal behavior scientist who collected the data for Nestle Purina PetCare’s Friskies brand of cat food.

The 777 photos studied by Villarreal showed the cats looking at a television, computer, DVDs or other media 6 percent of the time and hiding under tables 6 percent of the time.

Coming in at 5 percent was playing with toys; eating or looking at food finished at 4 percent.

Will the cats get movie cameras next? “We are in the think tank now,” Villarreal said.

Somebody Adopt me please!

This beautiful beautiful kitty named Misty needs a home! It’s owner decided it just didn’t want her anymore – who makes that kind of decision? Unfortunately more people than you think… MIsty is currently at the Valley Vet Spay/Neuter Clinic awaiting adoption. About 5 years old, female, declawed (so indoors only) and does best as the only cat in the house.
Common, who could resist!

About Parker and Chloe

Welcome to Chloe and Parker's Blog. Parker passed away on June 14, 2009 and Chloe has decided to continue his voice and the voice of all RESCUE KITTIES (as Chloe is too). In Parker's memory we continue his legacy... Parker Jolie Pitt (named so as he was rescued from a parking lot in downtown Los Angeles and the rest, well you can figure that out!) came to live at Chez Weldon which is a small house on top of a hill in Glassel Park, CA. Parker said "I live in Los Angeles with 2 loud mouthed Siamese cats and a new addition now named Chloe. She just kinda showed up. Mom and Dad said "what the hell, I guess the stray stays." What used to be a blog about Parker and Chloe's adventures is now still about Chloe but also about the world of cats - and mostly the homeless, rescues and strays who need homes. Chloe says "make yourself smile and adopt a kitty today!"
